Obituary of HD-DVD

February 18th, 2008

Dearly beloved fans of technology, we gather here today, saddened by this loss, but prepared to move on as we have done so many times before. We remember a life, one that in some peoples minds can be a called a life of a hero. We remember the revolution that was started, we remember the wars and some just remember the costs. Either way, we are here to remember the life of HD-DVD. It was a short but prosperous life. A life that brought joy to many people around the world. We now look back at the life of the HD-DVD and remember the fun times we had with it.

From the beginning HD-DVD demonstrated such great potential, with a high capacity for information and the beautiful output. Think back to the first time you saw HD-DVD playing and how impressed you were with its abilities. Remember how it made you feel good inside to watch it. Looking back at its life, we remember the sacrifices made by the world to help make HD-DVD the dominant format, but sadly it failed and its death was quick and painless. HD-DVD is survived by Toshiba and remembered by its friends, fans and family. Thank you for your visitation today and remember that now the war is over. Blue-Ray is the way to go, but a new war will begin soon.
